The original farm was started in 1932 by the McIntosh family, who ran an orchard and cidery here for years. But the farm eventually sat empty for over a decade, and the old trees reached the end of what they could give.
For years, Bruce Rasch drove past the property on his way to his favorite fishing spot in Saginaw. Bruce came from a background in horticulture, including commercial apple production, and after enough drive-bys he finally inquired about the place. He and his family fell in love with it immediately; it was easy to see why the McIntosh family had settled here back in the 1930s. Bruce met with the McIntosh family and purchased the farm in 2021.
By 2023, after repairing the grounds, he'd replanted the property into a new high-density, U-Pick friendly orchard, working to bring the land back while preserving its original character. Once the trees had a few years to mature, we opened our first roadside farm stand in 2025, reviving the family-friendly market the community had loved for so long.
Today, it's still our mission to grow good produce for this community, the same way the McIntosh family did. We kept their name on the farm as a nod to that history, just spelled a little differently: Macintosh, with an A.
